What Is Reflexology?
| |
From
ancient texts and illustrations we know that early Egyptians, Chinese,
Japanese, Russians and Indians worked on the feet to promote good
health. Today many of these techniques have been developed into a
modern scientific method called reflexology.
A long established principle of this science is that there are energy
zones that run throughout the body and reflex areas in the feet that
correspond to all the major organs and body parts. |
| |
 |
As
you can see in the illustration, the feet are a perfect mini map of the
whole body and are very sensitive and receptive because of the wealth
of nerve endings in each foot. Reflexology acts on parts of the
body by stimulating the corresponding reflexes with compression
techniques applied with fingers. Where there is inhibited
functioning, we find congestion in the form of deposits that have not
been cleared away by venous circulation. |

Empower Your Body And Mind Through Aromatherapy
| |
 |
Aromatherapy
involves more than just fragrance. Plant essential oils have
therapeutic powers in addition to beneficial fragrance and all are
antiseptic in different degrees.
One effective way to treat the ailments with essential oils is by
massage. Rubbing action activates the nerve endings and
stimulates the circulation of blood to the surface of the skin, and
thereby eases the entry of the oils. |

What Is Indian Head Massage?
| |
Stress
undermines both physical and emotional health. Indian head
massage is based on the Ayurvedic system of healing which has been
practiced in India for thousands years. It is an accessible,
convenient, therapeutic treatment in which the head, neck, arms,
shoulders, upper back and facial areas are massaged with the purpose of
manipulating energy channels. When the energy does not flow
properly, negative energy builds up, causing common ailments, including
stress, pain, baldness or hairloss. |
| |
| What Does Indian Head Massage Involve? |
| |
 |
The
client, fully clothed, sits in a massage chair for the treatment. The
therapist uses a range of different movements including application of
deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and
scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently
stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face. The session
will usually last from twenty to thirty minutes, and most therapists
like their clients to sit quietly for ten or twenty minutes once the
massage has been completed.

What is Swedish Massage?
| |
 |
Swedish
massage is the most commonly offered and best known type of
massage. Deep tissue massage is used to focus on the deeper
layers of muscle tissue. It uses a firm but gentle pressure to
improve the circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve
flexibility and create relaxation. It releases the chronic
patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger
pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the
fiber's of the muscles, tendons and fascia.
|
|
| |
| Why Get A Swedish Massage? |
| |
It
feels good and it is beneficial to your health. When muscles are
stressed they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to
inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A
deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from
muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because
many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of liquids
(juices or water) after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these
toxins from the body. Swedish massage is the foundation for
other types of Western massage, including sports, deep tissue and
aromatherapy.
